The Great Gatsby is an upcoming American 3D romantic drama film adaptation of writer F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1925 novel of the same name. It will be directed by Baz Luhrmann, and will star Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby, Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan, and Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway. Amitabh Bachchan as Meyer Wolfsheim and Brendan Maclean as Klipspringer are set to make their Hollywood debuts in this film.
Filming began on September 5, 2011 in Australia.The film is set to be released in 3D and 2D cinemas on December 25, 2012.

Luhrmann stated that the results from the movie's workshop process of auditioning actors for roles in The Great Gatsby had been "very encouraging" to him.Despite this movie being an adaption of an American book, most of the actors cast are Australian. The first person to be cast was Leonardo DiCaprio.He is to play the title role of Jay Gatsby, a young, mysterious millionaire who has shady business connections and an obsessive love for Daisy Buchanan, whom he had met when he was a young officer in World War I. Tobey Maguire has been cast to play Gatsby's friend, and main character, Nick Carraway, a bond salesman who serves as the narrator to the story.
Reports linked Amanda Seyfried to the lead role of Daisy Buchanan, an attractive, effervescent and superficial young woman, in October 2010.The next month Deadline Hollywood reported that Luhrmann had been auditioning numerous actresses, including Keira Knightley, Rebecca Hall, Amanda Seyfried, Blake Lively, Abbie Cornish, Michelle Williams and Scarlett Johansson, as well as considering Natalie Portman, for Daisy.Soon after, with her commitment to Cameron Crowe's We Bought a Zoo, Johansson pulled out of the running due potential scheduling conflicts with her upcoming film.Not too long later it was reported that British actress Carey Mulligan had not only become a contender, but the front runner for the part.
On November 15, Luhrmann announced that Mulligan had been cast to play Daisy after reading for the part on November 2, in New York.She got the role shortly after Luhrmann showed her audition footage to Sony Pictures Entertainment executives Amy Pascal and Doug Belgrad, who were impressed by the actress' command of the character.Mulligan burst into tears after learning of her casting via a phone call from Luhrmann, who her of his decision while she was on the red carpet at an event in New York. Regarding the casting of Daisy, Luhrmann said "I was privileged to explore the character with some of the world's most talented actresses, each one bringing their own particular interpretation, all of which were legitimate and exciting. However, specific to this particular production of The Great Gatsby, I was thrilled to pick up the phone an hour ago to the young Oscar nominated British actress Carey Mulligan and say to her: 'Hello, Daisy Buchanan.'"
In April, Ben Affleck was in talks about playing the key role of Tom Buchanan, but had to pass due to a scheduling conflict with Argo, an Iran political hostage thriller he plans to direct next.His project was supposed to begin production in September, while The Great Gatsby is expected to begin a month earlier.Several weeks later, Affleck was replaced by Joel Edgerton.Bradley Cooper had previously lobbied for the part and Luke Evans was a major contender for Tom. Another Australian actor to land a part was Isla Fisher who was cast to play Myrtle Wilson. Australian newcomer Elizabeth Debicki won the part of Jordan Baker, love interest of Nick Carraway (Maguire), right after graduating from Victorian College of the Arts. When casting for the supporting role of Jordan, the filmmaker said that the character must be "as thoroughly examined as Daisy, for this production, for this time”, adding, “It’s like 'Olivier's Hamlet was the right Hamlet for his time. Who would Hamlet be today? Same with a Jordan or a Daisy". In June 2011, Jason Clarke was cast as George B. Wilson.

Eddie Murphy and Brian Robbins (Meet Dave, Norbit) are the acting directing team equivalent of corn kernels and shit. They’re comedy constipation: Big terrible ideas they try way too hard to push out of a tiny hole of creativity. There are a multitude of theories that attempt to explain the trajectory of Murphy’s career, but more than even the money or laziness, it’s probably fear. The funniest man in Hollywood during the 1980s became so afraid of having his earnest comedic efforts rejected, he shriveled up inside a shell of high concept gimmickry and hid behind the wall of family films where he was safe from judgement. He could be blamed for poor script choices and greed, but he could not be accused of failing to live up to the heights of “Delirious” and “Raw” and Coming to America and Beverly Hills Cop and 48 Hours if he never even tried to scale those heights again.
A Thousand Words was filmed in 2008, back before Tower Heist reminded us ever-so-little of the Eddie Murphy we once loved. Tower Heist wasn’t a complete return to form, but it was a step in the right direction. A Thousand Words, which was shelved until the studio eyed a release date following the Oscar hosting gig that never was, has to feel like a huge embarrassment to Murphy, who looked like he was starting to crawl back. Murphy has done no publicity for A Thousand Words, as he’s probably trying to distance himself from the project and pray that it quietly flops like so many his films before it. That’s what I choose to believe, anyway. Murphy is biding his time, waiting for the perfect role to resurface and blow the doors off his dumpy career. Eddie Murphy doesn’t want anyone to see A Thousand Words. Out of respect for his earlier work, you should abide by those wishes. It’s for your own benefit. It’s one of the worst films in a career full of terrible ones.
In the film, Murphy stars as Jack McCall, a fast talking and sleazy literary agent who is full of more bullshit than a rodeo clown. He talks too much, he works too much, he lies, and he ignores his wife (Kerry Washington) and kid (Emanuel Ragsdale). However, when McCall stretches the truth on a deal with a new age guru, he discovers a Bodhi tree in his yard. After every word that Jack utters, a leaf falls. If the tree loses all its leaves, it dies, and so does Jack. Jack, therefore, has to learn to live with fewer words, which means 70 minutes of Eddie Murphy mugging, of over exaggerated facial expressions, and using nonverbal cues such as flatulence to get his point across. The trailer also suggests he squeezes a woman’s breast to indicate he wants milk. Hilarious.
Naturally, the whole tedious, unfunny exercise inspires Jack, who learns a valuable lesson about himself through his silence, and grows closer to his wife and kid through the experience. Maybe he even quits his job as a high paid corporate literary agent and opens up his own boutique devoted to inspiring self help literature for children. The New Age guru is probably his first client. I bet there’s even a big rousing ham fisted score.
I’m sure that A Thousand Words is every bit as insipid as it sounds, and anyone whose brain isn’t a congealed mass of unformed jelly will avoid it. You don’t need a proper review to know that: Eddie Murphy’s track record, his working relationship with Brian Robbins, the lack of publicity, and ten seconds of one trailer is all one needs to make an informed decision. Storyline
3 high school seniors throw a birthday party to make a name for themselves. As the night progresses, things spiral out of control as word of the party spreads.
Project X is a 2012 comedy film directed by Nima Nourizadeh in his feature film debut, written by Michael Bacall and Matt Drake based on a story by Bacall, and produced by The Hangover director Todd Phillips. The plot follows Thomas (Thomas Mann), Costa (Oliver Cooper) and J.B. (Jonathan Daniel Brown), three friends who plan to gain popularity by throwing a party, a plan which quickly escalates out of their control.
The title Project X was initially a placeholder for a final title, but interest generated by the secretive title resulted in it being kept. The film was cast through a nationwide open casting call to find people who never acted before or who had limited acting experience. The majority of the cast were sourced from this casting call, but a few with prior acting credits, such as Mann, were accepted after multiple auditions. Filming took place on sets entirely in Los Angeles, California over five weeks on a $12 million budget. The film is presented as a home video from the perspective of an attendee using a camera to document the night's events.
Project X was released in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom on March 2, 2012.
The film begins with a disclaimer from Warner Bros. "apologizing" to the citizens of North Pasadena.
Thomas (Thomas Mann) is turning seventeen, and his friends Costa (Oliver Cooper) and J.B. (Jonathan Daniel Brown) are planning to throw a huge birthday bash at Thomas' house, and to increase their popularity among their schoolmates. As Thomas' parents are going away for the weekend for their anniversary, Thomas' father lays down the rules, which include having a max of five people at their house, not to drive his expensive Mercedes, and no one is allowed in his office. Thomas is first reluctant to have the party at his house because of these rules, but Costa encourages him to have the party. Costa even hires AV-student Dax (Dax Flame), to record the events. Throughout their day at school, Costa and J.B. remind everyone about the party using text messaging and spreading it by word of mouth. Thomas also decides to invite Alexis (Alexis Knapp), the hottest girl at school. Thomas also talks to his best female friend Kirby (Kirby Bliss Blanton), whom he has a crush on.
As the trio plan for the party, Costa lures Thomas and J.B. to buy marijuana for the party from Trick (Rick Shapiro), a former soldier living in a dilapidated house. As T-Rick goes to get the weed for them, Costa steals a gnome displaying the middle finger and gives it to Dax to put in the car. As the three leave Trick's home, Trick discovers his gnome stolen, and chases them relentlessly as they escape in Thomas' mini van which he received as a gift from his parents, destroying the windshield in the process.
The party starts and only Thomas, Costa, J.B. and Kirby are at the house. Thomas worries that no one will come until suddenly, cars start pulling up in the neighborhood. The party becomes an instant hit as many people begin to show up. Thomas intended to limit the party to the backyard and the poolhouse, with the doors to the house locked, leaving the house accessible only to Thomas, Costa and J.B. The house was supposed to be guarded by two child security guards (Brady Hender and Nick Nervies). But as more and more people show up, the party gets moved into the house, which infuriates Thomas. Thomas begins questioning others at the party as to how they heard about the party, which leads to Costa revealing that he put out ads on Craigslist and on a local radio station to attract more people.
This is more or less when things go out of control. First, the gnome is smashed, and it contains large amounts of ecstasy, which everyone (including Thomas, Costa and J.B.) takes. The police show up, after a neighbor complains about the noise, but later leave as the party guests are quiet in the backyard, making them believe the party is over. Thomas makes out with Kirby, and reveals that he loves her. Later on, Alexis shows up to the party, and flirts with Thomas throughout the night, until she brings Thomas to his room to have sex. Kirby stops them, then runs off from the party. The noise and scope of the party causes televised news coverage; news helicopters fly over the house. In addition, a dwarf guest (Martin Klebba) drives Thomas' dad's Mercedes into the pool, after being put into an oven by other partygoers.
The police return, and are quickly overwhelmed by the party guests. They are forced to retreat and return with a SWAT team, which decides to let the party burn out before moving in. This goes well, until it is interrupted by Trick, who arrives with a flamethrower in an attempt to reclaim his already smashed gnome. Trick begins torching up trees around the neighborhood and cars parked on the road, ending the party. He is stopped by police who shoot his flamethrower pack. Trick takes cover inside a mobile home, which is destroyed by the exploding flamethrower. The trio (with no other option left since the house is destroyed), along with Dax, the two security guards and Milo, Thomas' dog, run away from the scene as many of the party attendees flee from the cops. The neighborhood is left in flames until fire department helicopters extinguish it.
They wake up on the bleachers of their high school, as the police and fire department helicopters continue to hover over the neighborhood. Costa lets the security guards go, but does not pay them because they did a "shit job" of watching the house. Knowing that he will have to take the blame for the party and the destruction to the neighborhood, Thomas lets Costa, J.B. and Dax leave. When his parents do come home, his father commends him for the party because he thought he was a loser, until hearing about how many people showed up to the party and what happened. His father punishes him by using Thomas' college funds to pay for the damages and making it Thomas' responsibility to pay for the rest of the damages.
The next day at school, Thomas, Costa and J.B. are cheered on by students for throwing an awesome party. Thomas is also able to rekindle his relationship with Kirby. In the epilogue, it is revealed that Thomas was convicted on six different charges, Costa was able to get an indictment on his charges because of his expensive lawyer, and J.B. got his charges dropped because his parents pleaded that he is a special needs person, which would make it difficult for the court to charge him. But because of this, he is forced to take the short bus every day to and from school. Mann had prior acting experience in the feature film It's Kind of a Funny Story (2010), and was told he could not audition for Project X because the producers wished to cast only people without acting credits. Mann ultimately had to audition seven times before he was given the role.

The film is Cooper's feature film debut. Costa's confident nature and backstory of being unwillingly moved to the film's setting of North Pasadena from Queens, New York was developed based on Cooper's auditions, where it was felt he gave the impression of being from New York City, despite originating from Ohio.

Lionsgate has confirmed that they will adapt the bestselling pregnancy bible What To Expect When You’re Expecting and intend to give it the Love Actually and Valentine’s Day treatment. In other words, we’ll see a series of intertwining vingnettes with enough star wattage to blind most any moviegoer.
The film is still in the early planning stages, but we wanted to throw out our own casting recommendations and hopefully Lionsgate is listening.
Dreamboat status aside, Jon Hamm would be perfect as frazzled father of three whose wife is expecting again. Mad Men gives him drama cred, 30 Rock gives him comedy cred, and really, who doesn’t want to see Don Draper play a fumbling, ultimately loving father? We all know Sally Draper would!
But Hamm would need someone to grab beers with at the local bar, and that’s where he can turn to Jason Bateman, who might play dad to an awkward teen, if only to remedy my Arrested Development separation anxiety.
The Lucky One
Synopsis:
An Iraq War veteran searches for the woman from a mysterious photo that he credits with saving his life during three tours of duty in this romantic drama adapted from the book by Nicholas Sparks. U.S. Marine sergeant Logan Thibault (Zac Efron) was serving his country overseas when he happened across a discarded photo of a beautiful woman. An inscription on the back read "Keep Safe," yet the photo revealed no clues about either the subject or her whereabouts. Upon returning home to civilian life, Logan conducts his own research and discovers that the woman's name is Beth (Taylor Schilling) and that she cares for dogs at a small-town kennel. Before long, Logan manages to get a job at the kennel, and sets his sights on winning Beth's heart. But it won't be easy because Beth's past experiences have made her wary of relationships. Meanwhile, as Logan works to earn Beth's trust, a dark secret from her past threatens to derail his hope for a happy future together.

The Lucky One is a novel by American writer Nicholas Sparks, released on September 30, 2008. The story revolves around a US Marine named Logan Thibault who finds a photograph of a smiling young woman half-buried in the sands of Iraq during his third tour of duty. It becomes a lucky charm for Thibault, who then finds the woman in the photo.
The novel deals with the themes of fate and destiny. Despite the allusions to such themes made in the novel, Sparks admitted that he does not necessarily believe in either. He adds, however, that he is ".a big believer in the fact that people have the ability to influence the future in a way that seems coincidental and when that happens, the feeling of fate or destiny is amplified.In the end, when writing The Lucky One, I wanted to explore the subject of fate or destiny, but in a way that reflected the reality of the world.
When U.S. Marine Logan Thibault finds a photograph of a smiling young woman half-buried in the dirt during his third tour of duty in Iraq, his first instinct is to toss it aside. Instead, he brings it back to the base for someone to claim, but when no one does, he finds himself always carrying the photo in his pocket. Soon Thibault experiences a sudden streak of luck winning poker games and even surviving deadly combat that kills two of his closest buddies. Only his best friend, Victor, seems to have an explanation for his good fortune: the photograph his lucky charm.
Back home in Colorado, Thibault can’t seem to get the photo and the woman in it out of his mind. Prometheus is an upcoming science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and written by Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof. The film stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall Green and Charlize Theron. The plot follows the crew of the spaceship Prometheus in the year 2085, as they explore an advanced alien civilization in search of the origins of humanity.
Conceived as a prequel to Scott's 1979 science fiction horror film Alien, rewrites of Spaihts' script by Lindelof developed a separate story that precedes the events of Alien, but which is not directly connected to the films in the Alien franchise. According to Scott, though the film shares "strands of Alien's DNA, so to speak", and takes place in the same universe, Prometheus will explore its own mythology and ideas. Principal photography began in March 2011, with filming taking place in England, Iceland, and Spain. Prometheus is scheduled for release between May 30 and June 8, 2012 in various territories through 20th Century Fox.

Noomi Rapace as Elizabeth Shaw, an archeologist and scientist.Rapace met with director Ridley Scott in August 2010 for an undisclosed purpose,and by January 2011, it was confirmed that she had secured the role.Rapace landed the role after Scott saw her performance as Lisbeth Salander in the 2009 drama film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Actresses Anne Hathaway, Natalie Portman, Gemma Arterton, Carey Mulligan, and Abbie Cornish, were all considered for the role during development.Rapace dismissed comparisons between Shaw and the Alien franchise's Ellen Ripley, saying "she's definitely her own character Rapace described Shaw as initially a "believer in God full of hope," but that "things happen and she changes into more of a warrior."
Michael Fassbender as David, an android.Writer Damon Lindelof stated that the character provides a non human perspective on the film's events, saying "what does the movie look like from the robot's point of view? If you were to ask him, 'What do you think about all of this? What's going on? What do you think about these humans who are around you?' Wouldn't it be cool if we found a way for that robot to answer those questions?"Fassbender shared that "there are a lot of interesting quirks and niches to him,"In developing his character, Fassbender avoided watching the performances of Ian Holm and Lance Henriksen as androids in Alien and Aliens respectively, but instead watched Scott's 1982 science fiction film Blade Runner. Additionally, he looked towards the "funny walk and economy of movement" of Olympic diver Greg Louganis.Fassbender stated "Louganis was my first inspiration. I figured that I'd sort of base my physicality roughly around him, and then it kind of went from there."Scott favored Fassbender for the role, but his agents reportedly demanded too much money to secure the actor's participation.However, by January 2011, Fassbender was confirmed to join the cast.
Guy Pearce as Peter Weyland, founder and head of Weyland Corp.Lindelof described Peter Weyland as having a massive ego and suffering from a god complex.Pearce has claimed that his appearance in the movie is brief, saying "I'm only in the film for a minute".

Sigourney Weaver downplayed any likeness between her character Ripley and Theron's Vickers: I’m sure they’re not trying to create a blonde Ripley or anything.Charlize is a wonderful actress, she’ll want to do her own thing with it and not be in the shadow of the other one, she commented at the 2011 Marrakech Film Festival.
Rafe Spall as Milburn. On his casting, Spall said "Alien is one of the best films ever made, and it’s a real buzz to be in a space suit on an 'Alien' set with Ridley Scott coming and speaking to you. It’s incredible. That’s why I wanted to be an actor, to be in a space suit on an Alien set".
